Goals & Objectives
The Objective of the Besteiro band is to develop lifelong skills that will produce good citizens by exposing them to a high quality music education. Band students will be exposed to and improve upon the following:
* Organizational skills * Practice habits/skills * Mental & Physical Discipline * Citizenship through group endeavors * Cultural Growth * Music Theory * Proper Instrumental Technique * Creative Self-Expression * Aural Skills * Music Appreciation * Teamwork & Social Skills * Performance Techniques

Course Description
Students will learn and proficiently execute the following ensemble fundamentals:
I. Maintain balance and blend throughout the section
II. Maintain balance and blend throughout the band
III. Sustain proper intonation throughout the section
IV. Sustain proper intonation throughout the band
V. Display proper performance etiquette at all performances (pep rallies, concerts, contests, trips, etc.)

I. Instruments II. Pencil III. Band Binder IV. Accessories (such as reeds, oil, slide cream, slide grease, cleaning cloth, swab, drum sticks) V. Band Spirit Shirt VI. Solid Black pants, Solid Black shoes, Solid Black Socks (these will be used as part of the band uniform and will be required to be worn at all performances and competitions) |

Grading Procedures
Each six weeks grade will reflect the music academical progress of the student and will be determined as follows: * 40% DAILY WORK * 60% ASSESSMENTS (TESTS) * One semester exam will be given for each semester. Each semester exam is worth 25% of the whole semester grade. * Please band handbook and course syllabus for more info. |
